BIG NEWS! Here I go again. God has revealed to me through His word and ministry that He wants our camp not to charge tuition for children to come to Summer Camp! Most camps have tuition fees for their campers. That was the model I patterned this camp after, but have never had peace with this system.
CEF's main ministry is to unchurched children and I believe our camp should be too. We can easily fill each week of camp with inner city children who, because of no fault of their own, will never be able to come to camp if they have to pay. Many of the parents of these children never attend church and the only Spiritual food is when we are there teaching Good News Clubs or 5-Day-Clubs in their neighborhoods.
Recently, we were at a low income housing project doing our weekly Good News Club. I was talking with a 14 year old about coming to Summer Camp. He said he would love to come but knew he never could. His next statement saddened me and moved my heart. He said "We are just poor "project rats." What a self image at 14 years old.
How can we bring these children to camp without charging? By Faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. I have trusted God to meet my personal financial needs for the last 15 years and now I know God wants me to trust him to meet camp expenses for Summer Camp also. There is nothing too hard for God.
In dollars and cents this amounts to raising an additional $40,000 above what is coming in now. Please be a part of this opportunity to bring children to camp.
The children have fun, are shown love, and hear the wonderful gospel of Jesus Christ twice a day. Summer camp is where many young people receive Jesus. (John 1:12)
This is a big change. We need you to help us evangelize the children. Join the vision. The greatest evangelistic work in the world is reaching children for Jesus Christ (Matthew 18:14). All gifts, small and large, could change a child's life for eternity. Jesus calls. We must follow.
For the lost children,
Thank you for considering Camp Good News, Where children are special and treated that way
